FSCSaab / Workshop file guide

Saab tuning files. Start with the exact vehicle.

A Saab arriving for further tuning may already have a history of software and hardware changes. Establish what is currently installed before treating it as a standard car. Supply the original controller identification, the file you have read and a clear account of previous work so the new request starts from a documented baseline.

Saab model families and your original read

Saab model names and shared engine sizes do not establish matching software. Older or converted controllers need explicit support assessment before purchase.

What matters for a Saab file request

01

Identify the generation explicitly rather than treating every 9-3 or 9-5 as the same platform.

02

For performance projects, record turbo, fuelling, intake and cooling components where changed.

03

Distinguish a known untouched original from a file read out of a vehicle with uncertain tuning history.

Prepare these details before uploading

  • Provide engine designation, year, transmission and available fuel.
  • Attach ECU identification and label current and archived files by their verified source.
  • Include relevant diagnostics and describe the behaviour being requested or investigated.

Use the original-file checklist for the complete upload workflow.

Choose the service after confirming compatibility

Compatible options are included with a stage file. Standalone options cost 0.5 credit each. Output gains and exact support depend on the specific vehicle; there is no fixed increase promised for a model name.

Questions before you upload

What if the Saab has several old tuning files on record?

Keep them separately labelled with their known source and date or configuration. Identify the file currently read from the vehicle and explain any uncertainty. An archived file should not be described as the correct original without evidence.

Can a Saab with unknown modifications be treated as Stage 1?

First establish the installed hardware and software history as far as possible. Describe anything unknown and supply the current read for assessment. Selecting a stage does not resolve whether the car is actually in a standard configuration.
