Identify the application
Rover model families and your original read
Rover catalogue presence does not confirm support for every older ECU or replacement setup. Rover and Land Rover require their own accurate vehicle identification.
What matters for a Rover file request
Check whether the ECU or engine has been replaced during the vehicle's service life.
Label archived files by their known source instead of assuming an old backup belongs to the current software.
Use the separate Land Rover guide for Range Rover or other Land Rover vehicles.
Prepare these details before uploading
- Supply exact model, engine, transmission, year and controller identification.
- Describe the read your tool can obtain and retain the original file unchanged.
- Include current faults, previous tuning and any uncertainty about replacement components.
Use the original-file checklist for the complete upload workflow.
Choose the service after confirming compatibility
Stage 1 1 credit
A request based on the vehicle’s standard hardware. Describe its condition and software before the file is prepared.
Stage 2 2 credits
A request matched to declared hardware modifications. Supply the full setup and agree the requirements first.
Compatible options are included with a stage file. Standalone options cost 0.5 credit each. Output gains and exact support depend on the specific vehicle; there is no fixed increase promised for a model name.
Questions before you upload
What if my Rover tool cannot obtain a usable original read?
Ask about the controller and available identification before buying a service. Do not substitute a downloaded file or an unrelated backup as the vehicle's original. The team needs to know what evidence and file access are available.
Should a Range Rover enquiry use this page?
Use the Land Rover guide and the make shown in the vehicle documentation. This page concerns Rover passenger-car enquiries; a similar name is not a reason to select a different vehicle category or controller file.
