Identify the application
MINI model families and your original read
Cooper S and John Cooper Works names do not identify one universal calibration. Generation, ECU software and hardware determine what can be assessed.
What matters for a MINI file request
Keep the generation, body style and performance derivative clearly separated in the request.
Describe drivability expectations for urban use as well as any performance objective.
For modified cars, identify the cooling, intake and exhaust setup rather than the tuning-stage label alone.
Prepare these details before uploading
- Provide the model year, exact engine and transmission type.
- Read and retain the original ECU file before making a tuning submission.
- State the fuel grade and whether the car already has an aftermarket calibration.
Use the original-file checklist for the complete upload workflow.
Choose the service after confirming compatibility
Stage 1 1 credit
A request based on the vehicle’s standard hardware. Describe its condition and software before the file is prepared.
Stage 2 2 credits
A request matched to declared hardware modifications. Supply the full setup and agree the requirements first.
Compatible options are included with a stage file. Standalone options cost 0.5 credit each. Output gains and exact support depend on the specific vehicle; there is no fixed increase promised for a model name.
Questions before you upload
Is a MINI John Cooper Works file interchangeable with a Cooper S file?
Do not assume interchangeability. Submit the original read for the vehicle you are working on, with its exact derivative and hardware. A related name or appearance does not demonstrate that the software or setup matches.
What should a daily-driven MINI customer specify?
Describe the fuel normally used, the balance between low-speed manners and performance, and any existing mechanical issues. These practical details make the request more useful than an unsupported target power figure.
