Describe the work the vehicle does and the change the customer wants to discuss. A workshop brief can include regular motorway use, urban journeys, changing loads or other relevant operating conditions. This is more informative than asking for the largest advertised output associated with an engine badge.

Keep requested outcomes specific. If the customer wants a different response in ordinary driving, explain that. If the question concerns fuel consumption, record how it is currently measured and under what conditions. A file order should not be treated as a guaranteed percentage saving across different routes, loads and driving styles.

Supply the engine designation, current transmission, ECU identifiers and the reading tool. Include the software history and installed hardware. A vehicle's description in the appointment book is often shorter than the technical information needed for a file request, so make the handover explicit.

If the vehicle has an existing running concern, provide the diagnostic observations and work already carried out. Keep those facts separate from the desired calibration changes. This gives the review a known starting point and prevents an unresolved workshop issue from becoming an undocumented assumption in the request.

Stage 1 is the starting service for requests based on standard hardware and costs 1 credit. Stage 2 costs 2 credits and requires the modified hardware configuration to be described. Compatible additional options selected with either stage are included. Check the current catalogue for the application and ask first when the scope is unclear.

Do not select an option simply because it is included. The request should state what the customer needs and what is appropriate for the vehicle. If your job involves a separate transmission file, identify that work separately so its support and service cost can be confirmed.

When the file is completed, download it from the relevant submission and read the notes. Your workshop performs the programming and checks the vehicle. Compare the outcome with the starting observations and the customer's request, using an appropriate and repeatable assessment process.

If you need a review, send the job reference, delivered version and a description of when the issue occurs. Evidence collected under stated conditions is more useful than an isolated impression. Keep follow-up in a portal support ticket so the conversation and attachments remain connected to the work.
